The pieces in this collection were composed for my students to expose them to a variety of styles. We all like many different toppings on a sundae (or ingredients in a soup), and each addition makes a new combination of flavours and enriches our overall taste sensation. Just as trying new ingredients expands the possibilities of what can be created with food, my hope is that students will explore many different sounds and rhythms and broaden their musical palate.
